I ran. I’m a runner now.
Yesterday I had a major personal best on the treadmill: 2.54 miles in 30 minutes! I had never managed to keep a jogging pace for more than 10 minutes at a time before. No sign of that “runner’s high” I keep hearing about, though. I just felt like my calves and lungs were conspiring to kill me. Now that I’ve done it, I guess I have to do it every day until it’s easy. Starting, uh, tomorrow. Or Tuesday.
Tomorrow I have a session with a personal trainer. New members at the gym get a free one. I’m curious to see how that goes… stay tuned!

Congrats on the new record. Your calves will get used to it, and your lungs. But for me I didn’t a runner’s high until maybe the first time I ran about 6 miles. And they are still woefully infrequent.
